If you are injured as a result of a violent crime there is a special state funded scheme that has been set up to provide compensation. It is known as The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). Provided you can demonstrate that your injury was caused by a criminal act and you can satisfy certain criteria you may be eligible for a compensation award.

CICA claims are not eligible for the no win no fee scheme as the CICA will not pay your solicitor's charges in addition to your compensation so you will be responsible for our fees. We can, however, deal with your case by taking a percentage of your award if you are successful.
